Veena Ugargol is a qualified Yoga Therapist for Mental Health specialising in helping people manage symptoms of stress, anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder (International Association of Yoga Therapists registered). Veena is also a qualified yoga teacher and yoga researcher. Using her experience and knowledge, Veena works within the Minded Institute model of Yoga Therapy, practising both privately and teaching the Yoga Therapy for the Mind 8 week course to provide an intervention that works with both the mind and body using a blend of neuroscientific based understanding with a compassionate approach.
With academic experience in psychology and neuroscience - including formal study at the Institute of Psychiatry, Kings College London - Veena continues to remain current with both fields. Her academic interest in stress and its effects on health, combined with her experience and knowledge of yoga and mindfulness and how it can improve mental health is the foundation for her yoga therapy work.
Veena's diverse practise, teaching and training equips her with the versatility to address a variety of group and individual requirements - she is currently working with patients at the Anxiety Related Disorders Unit, part of South London & Maudsley NHS Trust.
