Workshops & Speaking Events

As well as working with individuals I enjoy delivering workshops and speaking at events. I draw on my psychotherapy and yoga therapy knowledge to raise awareness of common mental health challenges and how we can better manage them. I’m able to tailor events to the specific needs of a range of groups and audiences be it a corporate or conference setting or a more informal group.

To name but a few, I’ve spoken about managing stress and worry at Google HQ in London, mindfulness at Kings College London and managing stressful transitions at Gap HQ in NYC. I’ve delivered workshops about managing anxiety and low mood to an Afghan women’s group and a Nepalese earthquake survivor community and I’ve spoken on a number of occasions at an annual Yoga and Mental Health Conference. I’ve delivered the Yoga Therapy for the Mind 8 week course many times at The School of Life, Triyoga and MoreYoga.

Since 2011 I have been part of the lecturing team on the Minded Institute professional training. This training teaches medics, therapists, psychologists or mental health professionals to integrate mind-body practices into their work and yoga teachers to bring therapeutic yoga and mindfulness to clinical populations. Additionally, the Minded Instutute launched their Integrative Yoga Psychotherapy training in 2023, as part of this training I deliver lectures on CBT and how it can be integrated into the Minded Psychotherapy model as well as how we can reflect usefully on ourselves as therapists.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY

“Veena came in to do a talk to the Google EMEA Marketing team on Reducing stress with cognitive behavioural theory and mindfulness, which really resonated with the audience! It was really well tailored and had some great insights, and we finished off with a breathing exercise to put things into practise. I would highly recommend her to come into any organisation to speak about Stress & Mental Health.”
